Children During Worship

We welcome children of all ages in our worship so that they may feel included in our community of faith.  Depending on each family’s comfort level and need, we have several options for child-care.

Sunday Mornings

For infants through fives (pre-Kindergarten) we provide child-care in our preschool area during Sunday morning worship.  Infants are in Room 124, Toddlers and Twos are in Room 121, and 3s-5s are in Room 127.

Children in Kindergarten and older worship with us in our Sanctuary.  Twice a month we share a Children’s Lesson in worship for Kindergarten-3rd grade.

We provide age-appropriate worship folders for children to have as a part of our weekly worship.  Parents will find these on the tables as you enter the Sanctuary.

Worship. We welcome children of all ages to our worship services.  For parents and families who prefer, child-care is available (see below).  As a part of worship, we include a lesson for children’s lesson twice a month for Kindergarteners-3rd graders. Our older children (grades 4-6) also serve as worship helpers (acolytes) and chime the hour.

Kid’s Own Worship. Most Sundays of the year, our younger children (K-3rd grade)  leave sanctuary worship with a blessing from the congregation to participate in an activity-oriented time of worship.

Family Dedications. In our faith tradition, infants are not baptized at birth, for we believe  individuals choose the faith at an appropriate time in their life.  We do offer a Family Dedication upon the birth of a child to those who desire an expression of support and encouragement from our community of faith.

Other Worship Times. Child-care is provided for other worship times during the year, such as Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and our Christmas Eve Lovefeast.
